Clutch Care 101: Clean, Protect & Store Like a Pro
News

A little care adds years to your clutch. Follow this easy routine to maintain shape, shine and colour.

1) Daily/After‑use

  • Wipe gently with a soft, lint‑free cloth.

  • Empty tickets/receipts and leave the clutch open for 10–15 minutes to air out.

2) Weekly quick clean

  • Fabric/Satin: Use a barely damp microfiber cloth; dab—don’t rub.

  • Leather/PU: Wipe with dry cloth first; if needed, a minuscule drop of mild soap in water—test on a hidden spot.

  • Embellishments: Soft brush only; avoid snagging threads.

3) Protecting hardware

Use a dry cloth to buff clasps and chains. Avoid alcohol‑based cleaners near plating or stones.

4) Shape & structure

Keep a little tissue or bag shaper inside so the silhouette stays crisp. Don’t over‑stuff or stack under heavy items.

5) Smart storage

  • Store in a dust bag (or soft cotton cover).

  • Add silica gel to control humidity.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight or damp corners.

  • Stand structured clutches upright; lay soft pouches flat.

6) Stain basics (always patch‑test)

  • Oil/Makeup: Sprinkle a bit of talc/cornstarch, let sit, then brush off.

  • Liquid spills: Blot immediately with dry tissue; air dry—no heat.
If the stain persists, consult a professional cleaner, especially for delicate fabrics.

Care calendar

  • After every wear: Quick wipe + air out.

  • Monthly: Deeper clean + hardware check.

  • Seasonally: Rotate silica gel, refresh stuffing, inspect seams.
